Community Neurological Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist

Band 6

Full Time –  37.5 hours per week

Main duties

Carry out occupational therapy assessments, plan and deliver treatment and offer education and support to patients and their families, in a variety of community settings.

You will be expected to practice autonomously but work as a part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team.  You will be expected to carry a complex clinical caseload and be required to delegate work to support staff. You will be responsible for specific areas of service development and deputise for Band 7 when appropriate.

Patient and Carer Involvement Coordinator, Greater Manchester

Part Time

Salary:  circa £23,550 per annum based on 25 hours per week
Home based with travel around Greater Manchester

The Stroke Association are looking for a motivated individual to lead the implementation of strategies and plans to improve the involvement and impact of patients and the public in and across the Greater Manchester Neurorehabilitation & Integrated Stroke Delivery Network (GMNISDN). This Stroke Association based role will be putting people affected by stroke and neurological conditions at the heart of the GMINSDN, partnering with them to shape our work wherever their insight and expertise can add value.

Main duties

Working closely with the GMNISDN managers, key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the existing PPI initiatives including the patient and carer groups and strengthening their impact
  • Continuing engagement with clinical teams and the wider voluntary sector to develop more holistic, patient centred pathways of care
  • Increasing the opportunities for participation of underrepresented groups to help reduce health inequalities in stroke and neurorehabilitation services

Fiona Davison – Engagement Lead – North West

Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist – Neuro Rehabilitation

Band 7

Full time – 37.5  hours per week

Based at Floyd Unit (Rochdale) & Salford Royal Hospital

Closing Date 3rd December 2023

Main duties of the job

To provide a flexible and highly specialist SLT service to adults with a range of neurological conditions based within the Greater Manchester neurorehabilitation services based at Salford Royal and the Floyd Unit.

To be an integral member of the integrated multidisciplinary team and to contribute and lead the development of individual patient care plans.

To work in collaboration with the neurorehabilitation Band 8A SLT to achieve the MCCN vision to: deliver innovation; continuous improvement; and ensure high quality effective evidence based care is provided.

To have responsibility for the day-to-day service delivery of SLT for the Level 1 and Level 2 Neurorehabilitation service, promote the review and planning of the service, and provision of education and support to junior members of the team including, qualified SLT’s, students and rehab assistants.

Highly Specialist Physiotherapist Neurorehabilitation

Floyd Intermediate Neurorehabilitation Unit – Rochdale / Salford Royal Hospital, MCCN

Full time Permanent (Secondment opportunity available)

Main duties of the job

Clinical – to lead the physiotherapy team in the provision of evidence based, effective and patient driven rehabilitation.

Leadership – to support the ongoing development of the Floyd unit, NCA and Greater Manchester neurorehabilitation services inline with the GM neurorehabilitation transformation

Operational – to take operational responsibility for the physiotherapy team at Floyd Unit, and to support the AHP leads in the overall operational management of the AHP teams across MCCN neurorehabilitation services

Education and Training – to provide advanced and highly specialist training opportunities through robust in-service sessions, supervision and by ensuring your own ongoing professional development is maintained
