Advanced Spasticity Training.  Presented by Tim Walton, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Manchester Neurotherapy Centre

 

The Workshop learning outcomes are :

To clarify definitions and terminology used to describe the clinical consequences of the UMN with reference to ‘spasticity’

To review the range of pathophysiological mechanisms that may contribute to altered muscle activity and movement following an UMN lesion.

To consider the implications for therapeutic intervention to influence plastic reorganisation and functional movement recovery.

Clinical application of theoretical components through patient demonstration

Deepen specific handling skills with specific focus on the upper limb through practical sessions

 

This workshop is over one and a half days

Day one 12pm – 5pm

Day two 8.30am – 5pm
