Presenter Biographies
Dr Tamsin Collins
Dr Tamsin Collins is a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine with Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. She completed her specialty training in Edinburgh and took up a consultant post with the Leeds Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service in 2013. She has an interest in how we can better address sex and relationship difficulties within neurorehabilitation. She has attended Institute For Psychosexual Medicine ( IPM) seminar training for a number of years where cases are shared and discussed anonymously to learn from each other
Dr Leona Rose
Dr Leona Rose is a clinical psychologist specialising in neuropsychology. She is currently working with the Stockport Community Neuro Rehab Team. Leona has a specialist interest in supporting patients with neurological injuries and conditions to navigate their relationships, thinking specifically about loss of role and adjustment, as well as a sex and intimacy.
Joanna Stevens
Jo Stevens is a Specialist Stroke Nurse and ACP as well as joint team lead at Bury Community Stroke and Neurorehab team. She is also currently the chair of the National Stroke Nurses Forum. She has ben a stroke nurse for her whole career working across Acute, rehabilitation, research and community care. She also works with the neurorehab caseload in Bury if there is a nursing need.
Jo has presented on sex and intimacy after stroke at the RCP, for the UCL lunchtime seminars, at a previous masterclass and has presented posters at the UKSF and European Life After Stroke conference. She also has a special interest in Women and Stroke and in Secondary Prevention.

- To recognise the Importance of Addressing Sex and Relationships in stroke and Neuroreahibiltation, by understanding why it is essential to include discussions about sex and intimacy as part of comprehensive neurorehabilitation care.
- To enhance knowledge on the effects of stroke and neurological conditions and how they affect sexual function and relationships.
- To develop a structured approach to addressing sexual health with patients by learning and applying a model to guide conversations about sex and relationships with patients and their partners effectively.
- Identify and utilise resources for patients on sexual health and Intimacy.
