Inpatient Rehabilitation Clinical Lead opportunity
We are inviting expressions of interest for a new Clinical Lead for Inpatient Rehabilitation. This follows the completion of Rachael Collins’ tenure in December, and we are now seeking her successor to help drive the next phase of improvement across Greater Manchester.
Clinical leadership is central to shaping and guiding the network’s programme of work. Our Leads influence strategic priorities, bring clinical insight into service improvement, and help ensure our projects deliver meaningful, evidence‑based change for patients and services across Greater Manchester.
The appointee will join an established clinical leadership team, including two newly appointed Community Clinical Leads, working closely with our Clinical Director and supported by our Manager, Administrator, and Facilitators.
The Clinical Lead will:
- Provide expert clinical insight to guide project planning and delivery.
- Scan the horizon for innovations, evidence and policy changes.
- Build and maintain productive relationships across our inpatient rehabilitation services.
- Work with providers and system partners to support and influence change.
- Present at and chair relevant meetings, representing the network professionally.
- Support both therapy‑focused and nursing‑related workstreams.
- Champion multi‑disciplinary, cross‑boundary collaboration.
We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician who:
- Is currently working in a senior role (Band 7+) within a Greater Manchester inpatient rehabilitation service.
- Brings experience of stroke and/or neurorehabilitation pathways.
- Can work confidently across professional groups and organisational boundaries.
- Has strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
The ring-fenced time commitment (that must be signed off by management) is 0.2 WTE although we may consider two clinicians at 0.1 WTE each, though 0.2 WTE is strongly preferred to meet the demands of the role.
You can view the role description and if interested, a completed expression of interest form should be returned by 24th April. Online interviews are currently scheduled for the 11th May but other dates may be possible.
Please share this opportunity with relevant colleagues in your teams and get in touch with our Manager Sarah Rickard (sarah.rickard@nca.nhs.uk) to find out more.
