Network annual report Plain English version launched
We are delighted to share a Plain English version of our recently published annual report.
The report marks 10 years of improving services for people affected by stroke and neurological conditions across Greater Manchester. Over the past year, the network has continued to bring together NHS organisations, charities, councils, patients and carers to drive improvements in care, recovery and quality of life. Patient and carer voices have played a key role in shaping priorities and service development.
Key achievements include advancements in stroke prevention through innovative heart-monitoring technology, faster access to brain scans and specialist treatments, and improved pathways that help more patients receive the right care quickly. Greater Manchester continues to lead the way nationally in rehabilitation, with more people accessing community-based support after leaving hospital.
The network has also launched an award-winning specialist bladder and bowel service and expanded emotional wellbeing support through staff training. Looking ahead, we will focus on prevention, digital innovation, reducing inequalities and delivering more care closer to home, while remaining committed to improving independence and outcomes for patients and families.
