Supporting access to emotional support for people affected by MND
The Greater Manchester MND Emotional Support Project funded by the MND Association continues to make good progress in improving access to information about emotional and psychological support for people living with MND and their families.
Working closely with healthcare professionals, partner organisations and people with lived experience, the project has mapped existing support available across the region and helped identify opportunities to improve awareness of services.
One of the project’s key developments has been the creation of a regional Emotional Support Directory, hosted on Padlet. The resource brings together local emotional wellbeing, psychological support, peer support and community services from each locality into a single, easy-to-access directory. It is designed to help patients and carers navigate the support available to them, while also providing healthcare professionals with a practical signposting tool. The directory will continue to be updated as services develop, helping to improve awareness of support options across Greater Manchester.
