Network training needs analysis published
One of our key priorities as a network is supporting the workforce development of our local professionals. We recently completed a scoping exercise to understand the training needs of stroke and neurorehabilitation staff across the region. The findings, now published in our report, will shape our training programme for the next 12 months.
The report highlights priority areas such as sensory rehabilitation, spasticity management, functional electrical stimulation, pain management, and cognitive and behavioural approaches. Staff consistently reported a preference for practical, applied learning that enhances confidence in delivering day‑to‑day care, rather than highly specialist or niche content.
It also emphasises the significant expertise already present within Greater Manchester, providing opportunities to draw on local specialists. This will help us strengthen collaboration across services while supporting ongoing professional development.
We already have a comprehensive programme underway, including February’s pain management webinar and March’s UKABIF session on brain injury and domestic violence. Further sessions will be scheduled in line with the priorities set out in the report
