Our Benefits Advice team are specialist welfare rights advisors who provide a comprehensive advice service on the whole range of benefits provided by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Local Authority.

Advice and support on all issues - various departments available to source.

This social group is run by Teenage Cancer Trust and events include meals out, residential breaks and day trips, funded by the Trust.
Date / time: Every three months.
Who for: For any young person aged 16-25 who is over two years out of treatment for cancer.

This social group run by the Teenage Cancer Trust goes out for meals, bowling, crazy golf and other activities, funded by the Trust. It is an ideal place to meet others who have had treatment. People are encouraged to bring a friend to the first two or three meetings until they get to know people.
Date / time: Every month (usually the last Thursday).
Who for: For any young person aged 16 – 25 who has had a cancer diagnosis.

Each meeting there is an informal conversation around a different theme, facilitated by a Macmillan Professional, for example fatigue, the emotional effects of cancer, healthy eating. The group are encouraged to share experiences and learn from each other.
Date / time: Every two months, Thursday mornings 10am – 12 noon.
Who for: Open to anyone living with and beyond cancer from the Greater Manchester area.

Patients’ group monthly and separate carers’ group monthly
Meet at: Ena Hughes Centre, Ellesmere Street, Failsworth M35 9AD.
Who for: Anyone living with cancer, including family and carers.

BEATS is an exercise referral scheme for people with a recurring illness or medical condition who would benefit from a personal exercise programme. It is a Partnership between NHS Bury and Bury Leisure. Doctors, practice nurses and specialist health professionals within Bury, refer suitable patients to join the BEATS programme. It is a 12 month programme with a close supervision period for the first 12 weeks. Patients referred to BEATS get advice & support on how to improve general health and well being through physical activity.

Date / time: 2nd and 4th Friday of each month between 1pm-3pm (please call to ensure the group is running)
Meet at: Macmillan Wellbeing Centre, Moorside Road, Davyhulme, M41 5SN.
Who for: Trafford patients and carers.

Counselling for people of all ages experiencing mental and emotional distress.

The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. We fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life.

Beacon Counselling exists to improve the lives of adults, young people, and children who experience mental and emotional distress.

Offers emergency, out of hours telephone advice, home visits and treatment at centres via an appointment system.

Offer assessment and rehabilitation for individuals experiencing hearing defects. This may, or may not, include issue of a hearing aid.

An area that offers rehabilitation support.

Support for people and carers suffering or looking for people and carers suffering or looking after someone with dementia.

Support for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia - activity groups, befriending, support & information.

We have worked closely with the Stroke Association and the link between stroke and vascular dementia. We have services in all 10 Boroughs of Greater Manchester.
We are there to offer people with a diagnosis of any type of dementia including vascular dementia. We have support services across the 10 Boroughs of Greater Manchester.
These include one to one support, advice and information. We also facilitate very popular 'Singing for the Brain' groups and various peer support groups.

Brain Tumour Support is a Charity dedicated to supporting any person who has been affected by brain tumour, be that the Patient, Carer, Family or Friend. Each person requires different levels of emotional support and financial guidance so each Client’s contact with Brain Tumour Support depends on their needs and is individual to that person. Brain Tumour Support also have a Facebook Member’s Forum where people are able to access peer support.

BASIC offer the following services:
- Education, information, emotional support, relationship counselling, stress management, support group
- Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Café facility, singing for fun, photography group, self help support groups
- Brain Injury Vocational Rehabilitation service, volunteering, Computersied Cognitive Training, Memory and cognitive training workshops
- Information, education and advice on diet and nutrition, power assisted exercise
- Aromatherapy massage, reflexology, acupuncture
- Power assisted exercise facility, virtual rehabilitation facilities (Accelerated Interactive Recovery)
- Debt management, legal advice, advocacy and support with employers, early intervention to prevent job loss
- Accessible exercise, education, information and advice, peer support
