Disability Stockport is a voluntary organisation which assists and supports people with physical disabilities and/or sensory loss or impairments.
We also offer a wide range of help via our Independent Living & Wellbeing services. These include peer support, life coaching, supported banking, personal budget support, benefit advice and many other activities not restricted to a disability. This including 30 wellbeing groups.

A variety of clubs open to all Manchester disabled children. We operate a multi-sport approach and activities are adapted to meet individual needs. Classes in term time and holiday activities.
Cycling, Cricket, Netball, Swimming, Athletics, Football, Wheelchair Basketball.

A Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) at your local Jobcentre can help you find a job or gain new skills and tell you about disability friendly employers in your area. They can also refer you to a specialist work psychologist, if appropriate, or carry out an ‘employment assessment’, asking you about: your skills and experience & what kind of roles you’re interested in. May include taking part in a programme such as Access to Work or Work Choice.

Advice and Support for younger stroke survivors.

Provide wheel chairs on short term loan. Provide info and help with DLA or attendance allowance application.

Established in 1988, Derbyshire Carers Association supports carers who look after a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, mental health problems or an addiction cannot cope without their help and support.

The Sensory Team supports people with a hearing impairment (deafness, deafened, hard of hearing).

We require that you pay a £10 annual membership subscription, and then for each journey booked a mileage contribution of 45p per mile to reimburse the drivers for their petrol and to support the cost of insuring and maintaining their vehicles. The drivers do not get paid for their time, this is donated voluntarily.

Crossroads Care Rochdale offers a full range of services including regular breaks for carers of anything upward of one hour per week, personal care and bathing or showering, emergency support and specialist care for children with complex and additional needs. We also offer regular carer breaks through Rochdale Carers Resource so that carers may attend training courses and improvement classes in a variety of subjects and interests.
In Rochdale GPs can now prescribe a break to carers to use the Crossroads service.

Carers Trust in Trafford offers regular breaks for carers from a minimum of two hours per week.
Our services include personal care, bathing or showering, emergency support and specialist care for children with complex and additional needs. We simply take over the role of the carer and care for your loved one whilst you take some time to be yourself and take a well earned break.

Crossroads Care in Greater Manchester is a registered charity which provides practical and emotional support to people who are responsible for the care of children, young adults, adults or older people at home, who have a physical/sensory disability, learning difficulty, who are chronically ill or have life limiting illnesses.

Leisure facilities

Advice support and information concerning all volunteer aspects.

This service provides a specialist clinical nursing service and a professional advisory service to the patients registered with a Salford GP. In addition it provides advice and support to social care agencies, voluntary and the private sector within the City of Salford.

For our residents who have difficulty accessing regular public transport.

Our Dial-a-Ride service provides door to door transport for those with mobility problems who would normally find it difficult to use public transport. The vehicles that we use have passenger-lifts and offer easy access for passengers that struggle with steps or use a wheelchair. Our Drivers can escort you to and from your door. TfGM Travel Vouchers are accepted as full or part payment for journeys on Dial-a-Ride.
We also operate a Shop-Mobility scooter scheme called “Promobility” that loans scooters for use by shoppers who are less mobile.

Glossop Community Transport has recently merged with Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport who now operate the service in the High Peak and northern Derbyshire Dales area.
Services include Dial-a-Bus (shopping), group transport, individual transport and our popular trips and tours. Tours are available throughout the year.
We have a variety of different sized vehicles on our fleet. They are all wheelchair accessible and have either passenger lifts or are low floored.

A membership organisation for people over 50. Our members enjoy getting out and about and trying new things. Members also have access to our network of DBS checked local helpers for an extra pair of hands around the home and garden!

Cheadle Hulme Communicare is a small non-profit-making charity with volunteers working in the local community to help those who are unable to get themselves to their essential appointment. With our help residents of Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, can reliably attend important appointments. We help to get to people to doctor, hospital, dentist, nurse, optician or podiatrist appointment.

24 hour tele-monitoring service for older or vulnerable people in Stockport area.

Salford Care on Call supports people who want to remain living in their own home. We're a mobile response service that will help you stay safe and independent and give your family peace of mind.
