We welcome all representatives from Voluntary and Community Groups to join us at the forum. The forum aims to bring together people from a wide representation of voluntary and community groups to discuss issues and enable a collective voice.

The Health, Care & Wellbeing Forum meets bi-monthly and brings together carers, service users, staff, volunteers and service providers. The forum provides an opportunity to be informed of strategic direction and future plans, share knowledge and information and develop strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

We are a community group that help raise awareness of health conditions for the over 50's in the Hindu community. We encourage local people to meet regularly and discuss topical issues, seek advice, especially lone male/female/widows or those whose English is a second language.

We are a community group meeting at Halliwell UCAN Centre every Monday. This gives an opportunity for members to socialise with other people. We organise trips in the summer and a meal at Christmas for the members. Each Monday our activities include knitting, cross stitch, embroidery and card making.

We are a self help, self financed group providing opportunities for retired and semi retired people to come together and make friends, develop their interests and enjoy themselves. Classes meet monthly in a wide range of subjects from Art Appreciation, History, Topical Science and writing for Pleasure.

We are a day care centre for elderly Asian people. We provide health promotion, activities, bathing facilities and meals.

Provides social, recreational and religious services, advocacy, advice, information and communication support for deaf or hard of hearing people.

A group of carers from the black and ethnic minority communities offer a chance to discuss and share experiences with others in similar situations. there are activities and regular trips available.

The group provides social activities, befriending service, counselling and skill building; giving advice and guidance service. We offer a "Living with Sight Loss" course to encourage independent living with sight loss.

We provide a free, weekly digest of The Bolton News, recorded with the co-operation of the Bolton News, and delivered free of charge to the visually impaired, and disabled of Bolton and District.
We also provide an Audio Conversion Service, with printed CDs if required, at very reasonable rates.

The group holds social events and offers informal advice to its deaf members.

Having a "hands on" approach to cancer awareness helps us educate about the importance of self checks and being aware of the changes in our bodies, early diagnosis save lives. We can talk about bowel, breast, testicular, lung, skin, cervical, kidney, bladder or prostate cancer, depending on the dynamics of the group.

Self help group for visually impaired individuals

To provide emergency accommodation and a range of support services for women with or without children; who have experienced domestic violence.
Meeting is by appointment only.

The EASE group is concerned with women who are affected by (FGM) Female Genital Mutilation and was established to help unleash their creativity and deal with their everyday issues using creative ways and arts.

HATS nurse covers all of the North West.

DMWS are an independent charity providing help and support to the Armed Forces Community whenever they are receiving medical treatment.
We are the Defence Medical Welfare Service, providing medical welfare support to the Armed Forces Community across the UK and in Cyprus.
Our Welfare Officers are highly trained and are ready to respond to those in need 24/7.
We are the only charity to deploy to areas of conflict alongside troops on the frontline, and the first welfare service that service personnel will see when they are wounded, injured or sick.

WE ARE A SMALL LOCAL CHARITY WHOSE AIMS ARE TO HELP THE BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PEOPLE IN THE WIGAN AND LEIGH AREA.WE HOLD WEEKLY SOCIAL GROUPS IN BELONG VILLAGE ATHERTON AND INCE COMMUNITY CENTRE INCE WHERE YOU CAN MEET PEOPLE FOR SOCIAL CONTACT/OUTINGS AND MEALS OUT.

Advice on all aspects Wigan Independent Advice Centre offers advice and information to the general public including casework in welfare rights, benefits, advice and help with reviews and appeals.

Offers peer support every fortnight.

Provides training and activities to carers residing in Wigan Borough.

All aspects of learning and volunteering.

Offer a wide range of therapies/ activities and advice. Counselling, form filing, reiki, coffee mornings, young carers holiday lodge.

Runs fully accessible minibuses for use by voluntary and community groups in Wigan and surrounding areas.

Supporting volunteer opportunities.

Largest range of adapted cycles in the region which are available for use by disabled people of all ages. It is a safe area for groups and individuals to enjoy cycling and fully trained staff are on hand to provide instruction if necessary on how to use the bikes and free taster sessions can be arranged.

Telephone advice line for the general public on welfare benefits. Tribunal representation by appointment.

Helps individuals identify what benefits and tax credits they are entitled to, assist with claim forms and argue their case at an appeal if they disagree with a decision. Individuals with debt problems can be helped to draw up financial statements, negotiate with their creditors and represent them in court. The service works in partnership with the Citizens Advice Bureau and can offer appointments at a number of settings including in the home and at local health centres.
